Çanakkale Tenis Platformu
A tennis community runs on information: who is playing whom, when the court is booked, what the score was, where that leaves the standings. For a long time ours lived in a group chat and a spreadsheet, which works right up until it does not.
I joined the community in 2023 and its admin team not long after, so I saw the problem from the inside before I wrote a line of code. In 2025 I built the platform that replaced all of it: player profiles, league and tournament structures, fixture generation, result entry and season standings — for a community of roughly 120 active players, welcoming people regardless of age, gender, profession or background.
It is Django and PostgreSQL, deliberately. The interesting problems here are scheduling logic and making result entry fast enough that people actually do it after a match, not framework choices. Boring technology left me the attention to spend on those.
It is live, it is used every week, and I am still adding to it — which is the part I like most. Software with real users tells you what to build next, and here the users are people I play against on Saturday.
